NR7-NR66 and AN2 hauling a freighter through McIntyre Loop, passing the 2009 Melbourne Cup Aurora train stowed in the loop.

An N class locomotive with an unusually "mixed" N set passenger train.

The red liveried N car is mixed between the grey N car set.

Also, PCJ 492 in original V/Line grey livery, still sporting the original V/Line logo was attached to the train, unusual for an N class hauled train.

Hitachi 284M trails out of Southern Cross Station on Melbourne Cup Day, 3-11-2009.

NSWRTM ran the annual Melbourne Cup Aurora from Sydney to Melbourne using the former Southern Aurora consist.

Shows the train at McIntyre Loop and Southern Cross Station.

Locomotives for the train were 4916 - 4520 and 4490.

4490 was shunted to the rear of the train at McIntyre Loop.

The train was running quite early, at least 15-20 minutes on arrival to McIntyre Loop. From then on the train had a very quick remainder of the journey into Southern Cross Station.

I managed to catch up with QRN liveried LDP003 at the Bunbury Street tunnel at Footscray after seeing it streak through Tottenham yard, long end leading.

Gunzelling around Tottenham Yard, looking at the track/sleeper machine, pile of concrete replacement sleepers and LDP003 streaking past on the SG, long end leading towards Melbourne. 8-10-09

Gunzelling around the Standard Gauge side of the Tottenham Railyards. Shows a shutdown 81, with the engine compartment door open. A long-end leading NR1, in the "Stars" livery, races past also, on the way to Melbourne.

Also shows the former sidings (now carpark/walkway) on the northern side of the railyards.

Push Pull P classes head over Melton Hwy, Sydenham, with a "mixed livery" set of H cars, 1 set in red the other in the new grey livery.
